I don’t have anything to do with the shoot – I just update the schedule once per year for Sweetwater.

Depending on your location, 4H runs youth archery programs. If you give me your general location (like ‘Macon, GA’) I can dig around and see what can be found for that area.

I am trying to pay for lessons fro my son who is 16. Where can I locate a teacher for a beginner.

Sweetwater doesn’t really have a league – Other than the Archery Shooters Association, which is an overall organization like major league baseball, I’m not sure if anyone does in Georgia. For 3D and Olympic archery, check – the Archery Shooter’s Association page is here –

  6. #6 by Joshua Doolittle on December 28, 2016 - 2:17 pm

I am looking to join an archery league. Does Sweet water have one? If so what do I have to do to join? How often can I shoot? What is the cost?

I haven’t updated any of the sites (I manage two) with 2017 dates yet – look at Georgia Outdoor News for places to shoot The thread includes a lot of places that only have one or two shoots per yer, plus indoor shoots. The outdoor season starts in January usually, though there are some ‘Toys for Tots’ shoots this time of year.

Hello my name is Paul me and my daughter are interested in this activity is there anything for the 2017 year all dates on the site are past, we are novices and are looking for a place to shoot

Sorry I didn’t see this earlier, Mark – I think Albert runs the shoot from 8am – 3pm during the summer months. (I know it’s too late for that shoot.) For other shoots, check weekly, that’s where almost everyone posts 3D shoots, indoor and Olympic style (Georgia Archery Association) shoots.

  10. #10 by Mark Watts on May 27, 2016 - 11:33 pm

What time is your archery event tomorrow? My wife and I have never shot 3D but would like to.

  11. #11 by Dyrewulf on November 29, 2015 - 12:44 pm

“Please come out and shoot for a good cause. Entry fee is one unwrapped toy, boy or girl does not matter. Feel free to bring more then one if you want. 20 targets 10 asa style and 10 fun style. Shoot will start at 8 and close at 2 look forward to seeing everyone there.” That’s what Albert posted in the GON.COM forums (I just put their schedule up on the website 🙂 )

Yes can I get details on the toys for tots shoot?

  13. #13 by Dyrewulf on June 30, 2015 - 12:28 pm

Hi, Mark – I just keep the schedule updated for Sweetwater, but yes, provided you get there early enough, you should be able to shoot it in one day. (I’ve shot it in one day several years in a row now)

  14. #14 by mark slade on June 29, 2015 - 4:46 pm

Can you shoot the state championship in one day?

  15. #15 by Dyrewulf on April 10, 2015 - 2:53 pm

FIxed it – No idea if June 30 was a typo by Albert or if I goofed it up, but it was supposed to be June 30.

  16. #16 by Dyrewulf on April 10, 2015 - 2:45 pm

Let me look at GON.COM – I just copy/paste these from what Albert puts up there.

  17. #17 by gilberttt on April 10, 2015 - 2:44 pm

Niko – The June 30th date falls on a Tuesday. Is this correct?

  18. #18 by Dyrewulf on October 24, 2014 - 5:52 pm

There’s usually a few traditional archers that come out – depends on the month, weather, etc.

  19. #19 by Peter on October 24, 2014 - 5:28 pm

    Any stick bows

  20. #20 by Dyrewulf on August 5, 2014 - 5:23 pm

Albert/Sweetwater Archery doesn’t really monitor the page – I run it for them just to have their schedule out on a website. (This is Niko from 323 Archery 🙂 )
